I'm Kristin—vegan herbcrafter, tea alchemist, moon witch, and creatrix behind moonmere. I've been apprenticing with plants for nearly twenty years, and what began as my own relationship with herbs grew into something I wanted to share with others. Each blend starts with the plants, then inspiration wanders far—from the Moon and astrology to mythology, folklore, the Wheel of the Year, and the stories of the Lowcountry environment. Beyond tea, moonmere offers oracle readings, plus a slowly growing collection of small treasures for your ritual space: eventually candles, wreaths, altar decor, and incense. Astrology readings will come when the time is right.

moonmere is an eclectic blend of the oddest of creatures. My husband, Harold, is my partner in life and in moonmere—beside me at markets, helping behind the scenes, and serving as our resident taste-tester and trusted final approver of many a new blend. Then there's the rest of the family: our five guinea pigs—Tinsel, Orca, Lilitu, Aslan, and Shere Khan—and Artaois, our young rescue Akita named for the Celtic bear god. Between guinea pig squeaks, herb blending, teas steeping, stacks of oracle cards, and books and stars forever being studied, moonmere is inseparable from the life we live around it.

The name moonmere™ holds story within it. Moon is for her gentle and faithful illumination during the cyclical phases and rhythms of each day, month, and year. Mere nods to Kristin's guinea pigs (Meerschweinchen—"little sea pigs"), as well as a still body of water—where earth and sky meet, the liminal magical space. We live beside such a mere, a pond teeming with wildlife: anhingas, marsh rabbits, great horned owls, yellow-bellied sliders, frogs. They remind me moonmere isn't just mine—it belongs to all of us who call this wild place home.
